The Bainbridge Buzz has been a grand adventure from its beginning two years ago, when the publication first went online as a women's magazine. The project's been through several evolutions since then, eventually taking its place as an integrated daily news and information website. {jomcomment}

After living on Bainbridge for over 25 years, I thought I pretty much knew the meaning of "community." It was the feeling I got when I went to the Farmer's Market, or volunteered for a neighborhood project. "Community" was the warm camaraderie that I felt when it took me an hour to shop at Town & Country because of all the people I'd stop and chat with. It was participating in the Cross-Sound rowing race, back in the 1980's. It was cheering on my kids while they played on a Bainbridge sports team, or took a bow on the BPA stage. {jomcomment}

I’m surprised I can swallow today, with the huge lump I have in my throat. I’m more than ready to lay the reins down, but it’s been two years packed with great people and wonderful stories.
Cathy and I were Jills-of-all-trades on the Buzz, but if I had a beat, it was City Hall. The lawyer in me couldn’t resist a good investigative story to be found in public documents, the air-traffic-controller atmosphere of Council meetings (hours of boredom punctuated by moments of blind panic), and the citizen activism from all sides of the political spectrum. {jomcomment}
